The European Institute for Theoretical Neuroscience (EITN) is a structure created as part of the Theoretical Neuroscience activities of the Human Brain Project (HBP) and is operated by the UNIC unit of the CNRS.
The EITN has for scientific director Alain Destexhe (UNIC, CNRS, Gif-sur-Yvette) and is hosted by the Fondation Voir et Entendre & the Vision Institute in Paris.
The EITN is an open place to foster theoretical neuroscience activities related to the HBP, and has been planned to create strong interactions with the theoretical neuroscience community to bring new ideas and theories to the project. The EITN finances external researchers through an extensive workshop and visitor program.
The theoretical neuroscience activities of the EITN are being animated by all leaders of the HBP theoretical neuroscience division, such as Gustavo Deco (U. Barcelona), Alain Destexhe (CNRS), Wulfram Gerstner (EPFL), Wolfgang Maass (U. Graz), and many other members of HBP. Several postdocs , PhD students, visitors, in addition to the Director and one administrative will be welcoming you at the Institute.
A number of non-HBP researchers are affiliated with the EITN and participate to its activities or collaborate scientifically: Ryad Benosman (Vision Institute, Paris), Romain Brette (Vision Institute, Paris), Sophie Deneve (ENS, Paris), Lyle Graham (Paris Descartes University), Boris Gutkin (ENS, Paris), Vincent Hakim (ENS, Paris), Olivier Marre (Vision Institute, Paris), Gianluigi Mongillo (Paris Descartes University), Srdjan Ostojic (ENS, Paris), Serge Picaud (Vision Institute, Paris), Rava da Silveira (ENS, Paris), Jonathan Touboul (College de France, Paris).
